Copenhagen Offshore Partners (COP), a global leader in offshore wind development and construction, has appointed Claire Lohan as the new CEO of COP Taiwan. Lohan will take over from Dennis Sanou and oversee operations and development of COP’s growing 6.3 GW project development portfolio in Taiwan, including leading bid development for the second phase of Taiwan Round 3 auctions.
Lohan steps into the role after serving as CEO of the Taiwan Round 3 team at COP since 2022 during which time she led the team to secure an award for the Fengmiao 1 project. Dennis Sanou will continue to serve as CEO of the Changfang Xidao project and Joris Hol will assume the role of Fengmiao 1 CEO as well as carry on in his role as CEO of the Zhong Neng offshore wind project.

COP is developing offshore wind projects in Taiwan on behalf of Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and project partners. Copenhagen Offshore Partners (COP), a global leader in offshore wind development and construction, has announced Rune Damgaard and Jesper Krarup Holst will serve as Co-CEOs of the group’s operations in the Philippines, including development of three offshore wind sites totalling 2 GW of capacity which are owned by a Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) managed fund.
Damgaard transitions into the role after serving as Deputy CEO and Procurement Director at COP for the group’s 500 MW Feng Miao 1 project in Taiwan. Holst, a Partner at COP, brings unrivalled global offshore wind experience including leadership of projects through the development phase and into construction in countries including Taiwan and South Korea. Holst will continue his regional leadership position at COP covering Asian markets including Taiwan, South Korea and now also the Philippines.

The 2 GW portfolio COP is leading development for in the Philippines is expected to create around 4,500 jobs during the development and operations period, as well as generate enough electricity to power approximately one million households, which would offset 2.9 million tonnes in CO2 emissions per year for the duration of their 25-year contracts.
CIP and COP are targeting delivery of Philippines projects by 2028 and are committed to developing them in partnership with the Philippines government and local stakeholders to support the nation’s climate, renewable energy, and economic development goals.

Copenhagen Offshore Partners (COP), a global leader in offshore wind development and construction, announced that Jonathan Spink has been appointed Co-CEO of COP Korea and will lead the team alongside David Yoo who has served as Co-CEO in Korea since COP entered the market in 2018. Spink will take over for Jesper Krarup Holst while also continuing to serve as Chief Executive Officer of the Haewoori offshore wind project. Holst will continue to serve as Chief Operating Officer for the Jeonnam 1, 2, 3 Joint Venture between CIP and SK E&S as well as his APAC regional leadership role covering Korea, Taiwan and the Philippines.
Spink and Yoo will advance COP Korea’s 4.4GW offshore wind portfolio on behalf of Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and project partners. The portfolio includes the 99 MW Jeonnam 1 project that is currently under construction, Jeonnam 2 and 3, Haewoori 1, 2, and 3, the projects in Shinan and Younggwang provinces, as well as other early market development activities.

US Industry and Policy Leader to Also Serve as CEO of Vineyard Offshore, Lead Offshore Wind Development on East and West Coasts

Copenhagen Offshore Partners (COP), a global leader in offshore wind development and construction, today announced Alicia Barton will join as US CEO, starting in January. Barton will also serve as CEO for Vineyard Offshore, the offshore wind platform of which COP leads development activities for in the United States. Barton will take over in both roles for Lars T. Pedersen, who has led Vineyard Offshore since it was founded in 2022 and before that led the team developing Vineyard Wind, the first commercial-scale offshore wind project in the United States, now under construction.
“Alicia brings an outstanding mix of skills and talents to the COP and Vineyard Offshore teams,” said Pedersen. “She is widely known and highly respected across the industry. I had the pleasure of working with her during the very early days of the Vineyard Wind project and I am confident she will carry forward the rapid momentum and success our team has set in motion in North America.”
For the past three years, Barton has served as CEO of FirstLight Power, developing and operating 1.6 GW of hydroelectric, pumped storage, battery storage, and solar assets in the U.S. and Canada. Previously, she managed operations for the Global Utility Group at SunEdison, which at the time was the largest renewable energy development company in the world. Barton has also served as CEO of the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center and President and CEO of the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA).

Earlier in her career, Barton practiced law and served in the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, running the state’s environmental review office, among other positions. She also sits on the boards of directors of several leading climate focused organizations and companies, including the Environmental League of Massachusetts, Advisory Board for the New England Women in Energy and Environment (NEWIEE) and formerly Chaired the Board for Greentown Labs.
Barton holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources from the Ohio State University and a J.D. from Boston College Law School.
As part of the Vineyard Offshore project company in the United States, COP is leading project development activities for a 6 GW offshore wind portfolio in the country. Copenhagen Offshore Partners (COP), a global leader in offshore wind development and construction, is proud to announce the Excelsior Wind project has been awarded 1.3 gigawatts (GWs) in the latest solicitation for offshore wind power held by the New York State Energy Research and Development Agency (NYSERDA) in the United States. The project will be developed in the Vineyard Mid-Atlantic lease area (OCS-A 544) located in the New York Bight, located 24 miles off the coast Long Island. When complete, Excelsior Wind will provide clean and affordable energy for more than 700,000 homes in the New York City area, helping to avoid up to 1.1 million metric tons annually in carbon pollution, the equivalent to taking 225,000 cars off the road every year.
The Excelsior Wind lease area is owned by Copenhagen Infrastructure IV, a fund managed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP). COP will lead development activities for Excelsior Wind as part of Vineyard Offshore, CIP’s offshore wind platform in the United States.

Copenhagen Offshore Partners (COP), a global leader in offshore wind development and construction, has welcomed 24 new colleagues into offices around the world as part of the group’s Global Graduate Program. This is the second cohort of Global Graduates inducted into the program since it launched in 2021. Participants were selected following a competitive application and review process which saw more than 1,800 applicants apply from around the world.
COP’s Global Graduate Program is a full-time, 24-month rotation program that offers recent graduates and early career professionals immersive training, learning, and mentoring across the offshore wind project value chain. The program is focused on growing the next generation of experienced offshore wind talent and leaders around the world. Following the completion of the program, graduates will have the opportunity to join COP in permanent positions.
