Rising to the Offshore Wind Talent Challenge, Copenhagen Offshore Partners Welcomes 17 New Colleagues as Part of First Global Graduate Program Cohort

The 24-month program will offer recent graduates immersive training, learning, and mentoring across the offshore wind project value chain, growing the next generation of experienced talent and leaders around the world.

September 22, 2022 – Copenhagen

Copenhagen Offshore Partners (COP), a global leader in offshore wind development and construction, has launched its Global Graduate Program, a full time, two-year professional development initiative to upskill and train ambitious individuals for a career in the booming offshore wind industry. Seventeen participants were selected following a competitive application and review process which saw more than 750 applicants apply.

As governments around the world look to offshore wind to reach their clean energy and climate ambitions, there is growing demand for skilled and experienced professionals to support these projects. COP is committed to help develop this talent base and has established the Global Graduate Program which will offer participants an unparalleled training and learning experience working alongside some of the industry’s top leaders.

‘’As COP continues to secure offshore wind projects around the world, we are acutely aware of the need to build the global talent pool,’’ said Jytte Svensen, Head of People. ‘’Our new Global Graduate Program will give aspiring offshore wind professionals the necessary hands-on experience to thrive in this fast-paced and complex industry. I can’t think of a better place to learn the ropes than with our COP team.’’

The recent graduates and early career professionals entering the Global Graduate Program are from diverse backgrounds and will receive a customized career experience that combines the graduate’s interests with COP’s organizational needs. The 17 Graduates have commenced their training in six COP offices, including Boston, Copenhagen, Edinburgh, Milan, Seoul, and Taipei.

COP’s success developing offshore wind projects is due to its agile structure and transferrable global talent who can bring their experience to new markets; therefore, over the course of the two-year Global Graduate Program, participants will go through three rotations across strategic business functions. Unique to the program, the third and final rotation of six months offers Graduates the opportunity to identify a business function and location at one of COP’s 12 global offices, where they will complete their graduate journey before joining the company in a permanent position.

COP is excited to welcome its first cohort of Graduates around the world:
