Holly Cartwright appointed CEO of COP UK and Ireland

2 November, 2026 – Copenhagen, Denmark and Edinburgh, United Kingdom

Copenhagen Offshore Partners (COP), a global leader in offshore wind development, construction, and operations, today announced the appointment of Holly Cartwright as sole CEO of COP UK and Ireland.

Holly joined COP in April 2022 and since March 2025 she has served as Co-CEO of COP UK and Ireland alongside Virginia Ruiz Albacete who has stepped down from her Co-CEO role. Together, they have advanced development of COP’s UK and Ireland offshore wind portfolio, progressing Pentland and Morecambe through key milestones, including Pentland’s Contract for Difference and Morecambe’s full development consent.

Having worked in the sector since 2011, Holly brings extensive experience spanning the development and consenting of offshore wind projects in Scotland, England and Ireland, as well as project execution and construction.

Holly stated, “This is an exciting time for offshore wind in the region, and we have a strong pipeline of projects and significant potential ahead. I’m proud to take on the role of CEO and continue working with our talented team, our partners and stakeholders to advance our projects, seize market opportunities, and contribute to the energy transition across the UK and Ireland.”

“Since joining COP, Holly has demonstrated strong leadership across our development activities and the wider business, building on our position as a leader in offshore wind. I’m very pleased to see her step into the CEO role in the UK and Ireland, which is a strategic market for our team,” said Keld Bennetsen, Executive Vice President and Head of Europe at COP.

COP is advancing a more than 5.5 GW offshore wind portfolio across the UK and Ireland, including the Ossian and Pentland floating offshore wind projects in Scotland, NISA in Ireland, the Morecambe offshore wind project in England. Most recently, the portfolio has expanded with Five Estuaries, a 1 GW fixed-bottom offshore wind project off the Suffolk coast, following Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners’ acquisition of a 25 % stake in the project this October.
