Alessandro Antonioli Appointed CEO Role of Copenhagen Offshore Partners in Vietnam

September 29, 2025 – Copenhagen, Denmark and Hanoi, Vietnam

Copenhagen Offshore Partners (COP), a global leader in offshore wind development, construction, and operations, has announced that Alessandro Antonioli has been appointed CEO of COP Vietnam. He will lead the local market team and carry forward efforts to grow and develop Vietnam’s offshore wind market safely and sustainably in support of the country’s renewable energy goals. Antonioli succeeds Stuart Livesey, who will now focus on offshore wind development in the United Kingdom at COP after leading COP Vietnam since 2022.

Antonioli joins COP with more than 20 years of experience in large-scale energy development. Most recently, he served as BP’s Head of Offshore Wind in the Nordics and Vietnam and he led the company’s low-carbon energy markets across Vietnam, Oman, Japan, and Norway. He has also held technical roles at General Electric and held investment management responsibilities in Asia. With this experience, he will oversee and continue close collaboration with stakeholders in Vietnam to create a clear regulatory framework for offshore wind, to transfer global offshore wind know-how to local partners, to grow of the local supply chain, and to advance permitting procedures and early-stage surveys for COP’s offshore wind portfolio in the country.

COP is the exclusive offshore wind development partner to Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), the world’s largest dedicated investor in renewable energy. CIP recently reached a milestone by signing a joint development agreement with Vietnam National Industry – Energy Group (Petrovietnam) for an offshore wind project in the south-central region with an expected capacity of 1 – 2 GW. COP will lead development activities for this project.

“It is a great honour to be appointed CEO of COP Vietnam. Together with our local team, we will make significant progress to unlock the full potential of offshore wind in the country and advance the sustainable energy transition,” said Antonioli. “COP and CIP are committed to long-term investment in Vietnam, not only to develop large-scale offshore wind projects, but also to build a new industry that delivers sustainable benefits to the economy and local communities.”

“We are pleased to welcome Alessandro to COP and progress joint development activities in this important market with Petro Vietnam,” said Jesper Krarup Holst, COP Partner and Head of APAC. “Alessandro’s exceptional experience building agile teams and leading large infrastructure projects in Vietnam will be instrumental to achieving our goals to accelerate the energy transition in APAC and create a healthier environment for all.”
